Active Release Techniques (A.R.T.)

A.R.T. is perfect for overuse injuries, helping to heal sprain/strains and releasing scar tissue.

Our providers are whole body certified to confidently work on muscle, tendon, ligament and nerve conditions. We often hear "Why didn't I know about this sooner?!" or "How did you zero in on the perfect spot, that is IT!!"

Example- Pressure is applied to the specific tissue and the patient is asked to move thru a range of motion to lengthen the tissue. So a patient with a hip flexor problem may lay on their side, with pressure applied deep to the psoas, while the patient extends their hip.

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization

We utilize a metal tool with lotion to glide over soft tissues that need improved blood flow. We often pair with active range of motion to enhance the IASTM release. Patients warmly refer to this tool as "The Scraper".

Example- Wearing a tank top, the skin is exposed at the upper back and levator muscles. The tool is applied to the chronically tight tissues with short or long strokes while the patient looks down and away.

Laser Therapy

Class IV MLS red light therapy is a very powerful healing device.

This FDA-cleared, Class IV technology synchronizes dual wavelengths with continuous and pulsed emissions bringing you the most advanced laser therapy system available on the market today.

MLS (Multiwave Locked System) Laser is an FDA cleared medical treatment that provides safe, non-invasive, non-addictive, drug-free, well-tested solution for reducing inflammation and acute or chronic pain.

Each treatment consists of placing the targeted area under the laser light for 2 minutes, with an average treatment time of 8-10 minutes.

Benefits of Cold Laser Therapy

  • Reduces pain
  • Reduces inflammation
  • Reduces swelling
  • Accelerates recovery/healing

The MLS laser penetrates the skin and projects light photons deep into your cells stimulating the cell mitochondria to produce Adenosine TriPhosphate (ATP).  ATP is known as the source of energy for every cell in the body.  An increase in ATP results in increased cellular regeneration and communication.  In this way, laser therapy:

  1. Heals damaged cells; MLS laser helps sick or injured cells take in oxygen and nutrients at a level similar to that of a healthy cell, and it helps them release wastes and toxins.
  2. “Up-regulates” the function of normal, healthy cells.
